1. How secure is this system?
· We have teamed up with PayPal to offer our customers the best and most secure environment for all your transactions. PayPal are one of the world’s leading providers of credit/debit card processing services on the internet. Once you submit your details online, they (details) are securely transmitted to PayPal’s secure servers for processing. In this way, no one can intercept your personal details. 2. What kind of data encryption is supported by E-tambala?
· Since all the data transmission will be carried out by PayPal, it means that all your sensitive financial information is protected by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128 bits (the highest level commercially available!!!).
3. What if someone steals my card and impersonates me?
· As part of processing your transanction, our E-tambala team will phone you back on the number which you specify. If you can not confirm the details which you gave us in an early email exchange, the transaction will not be processed and will be cancelled immediately. In addition we will require a government issued photographic ID for all recipients’ receiving cash. For money transfers what have to be deposited into a recipient’s account, we will work with the concerned Bank if a fraudulent transaction has been reported to us. Note that it is a criminal offence to use another person’s credit/debit card for fraudulent activities and the penalties can be very severe.
4. How long does it take for my money to be received by the recipient?
· It will depend on the time yourmoney will show in our account. We advise our customers to give us three Malawian working days to finalise your transaction. In most cases the whole process will only take less than a single day and your recipient will be able to cash the money same day. Note that Malawian working hours are Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00.
5. How do I start sending money?
· To start sending money straight away, please send a short email to e-tambala@umodzi.com with your telephone number. Please do not send your credit /debit card details in the email. All our customer service team will need at this moment is just your contact number. Once we have received your email, as part of our security to our customers, we will call you back on the number you specify in the email. Once we are satisfied that you are a genuine customer, you will receive an email with the link to our secure website where you will be able to use your card to start transferring your money.
6. How will the recipient know about their money?
· If you did not inform them, do not worry because as part of our service to our customers we will email/txt/call all recipients to let them know about the money you have just sent and also again to let them know once the money has been deposited in their account.
7. How much does it cost?
· We will only charge you £5 for all transfers less than £50. For transfers more than £50, we will charge you 10% of the amount you want to send.
8. What exchange rate will be used?
· Please refer to the exchange rate at the top of this page.
9. What name will appear on my bank /Credit /Debit Card statement against this payment?
· The name that will appear against your payment will be PayPal * Umodzi. E-Tambala is part of Umodzi Business Solutions (www.umodzi.com), a wholly owned Malawian company.
